Date Night!
Have you ever spent time in the secret place talking with God and began prophetically speaking into your own life?
Think of that peaceful moment when you approach without an agenda, not seeking the next move or revelation for your perceived mission. A time when you simply yearn to escape and be in His presence?
I'm talking about date night with Jesus. Or is it something much more profound, everlasting and intimate?
It’s the intentional act of running after Him and setting aside time together.
This is not a transactional moment, its a covenantal experience.
A coming away.
It's those times where you just want to sit with only Him by a kindled fire and gaze into his eyes for a little while. A time to shed all pretenses and allow Him to disrobe you of all that concerns and weighs upon you, just with the gaze of his eyes.
You know that gaze- the one that cracks the barricade surrounding your heart and makes it skip a few beats, ushering you into an otherworldly existence. It's the look through the only set of eyes that truly sees you and you know you’ve been completely seen and unafraid.
You've seen that gaze before and longed to feel its warmth once more.
But you've just been so busy stewarding life, that you've forgotten what it looks like.
You tell yourself its ok, I can still ride the wave of gaze’s past, if I keep to my occupation, I can rest later, but that’s not how this works. This approach doesn't quite align with the true essence of His nature.
Love takes time.
Its intentional and while unwavering, craves attention, all of the time. It pangs when thirsty to the point of pain yet thrives and flourishes when its filled. No, this is not selfish in any form. Love, love's anyway, despite what it receives, yet why would you want a long-distance type of love when you can have it to the full right here, in the now, and in proximity?
Make space for the refreshing of new wine, and new garments.
The kind that is profound and expansive yet feels weightless.
A love that says,
“you've gone through the days prepping, cleaning, cooking, baking, crafting, pouring, encouraging, and parenting. You've managed, directed, stewarded, and discipled. Paid bills, balanced budgets, ran the community outreach, and built platforms. Now you're here, with me, and you are looking for a fill. Only I'm not a quick fix. I’m not Wawa, Buc-ee's, Exxon, or Kwik Trip.
I don't move that way.
You seek transformation, and I understand. You're searching for a fresh concept and inspiration-the next big step to propel things forward-but you seem to have overlooked the most crucial element.
I Am is here, looking for a little "ME" time with “YOU”.
If we are one, then you cannot navigate this life in any other way.
I'll gladly talk about anything you wish. How I love the sound of your voice. I want nothing more than to bring you joy and help you fulfill your dreams. To ease the cares of your life away. I'll gladly give you your heart’s desire. Don’t you know it is I that put them there?
Don't you know I ache for you?
Can you perceive my language of Love in my eyes as I gaze upon you-Compelling you to cast all your cares on me and simply remain and journey together through the weight of this season?
Surrender to me. Surrender to my Father, for He is Love.
Relax and let the ties that bind you unwind, freeing you to enter my rest.
The commitments you've entered into as you purposed your life often happen without reflecting on the purity and singularity of which I intended for you, or the ability to contemplate the consequences. Did I not say to seek first my kingdom and my righteousness, and all these things will be added to you?
Remember, I've counted the cost and laid it all down for you. My desire is for you, to be close to me, for I no longer call you servant, but friend, and everything I learned from my Father I have freely made known to you. You will not endure what’s coming without covenantal intimacy with me.
Ease up and let go of the constraints that prevent you from experiencing my peace and all I have for you. Come as you are, for time is precious.
What kind of love is this between us?
Can you trust me enough to release all that troubles you and stay a while?
It’s date night and not a debriefing. There is no clock on the wall of reminders to get back to the grind.
Drop your backpack and leave it at the door.
Tonight is dedicated to us.
Sit. Listen. Be still.
Look into my eyes.
You are my priority.
Not anyone or anything else.
Notice the care I've taken to set this table for you?
Will you not dine with me?
The fire is warm, and the manna is ready. My Father and Holy Spirit are here. Let them tend to you while we share this meal together.
Take, eat, this is my body, given freely to you.
Take, drink, this is my blood, freely shed for you.
Will you not partake of me?
There's no one else here.
What I share with you in this sacred time transcends what you know; it’s meant for you alone. Not your platform or mastermind. Not anyone else. Just you and me.
Drink. Eat. Rest until you overflow.
Is it sleep you need? Lay beside me while I tend to you.
There is much I desire to tell you, and I desire for you to be fully rested to receive my infilling, but I can't do that if you're consistently visiting me at the drive thru.
What I intend to share with you is deep, personal, intimate, and nourishing. I’m not asking for a nibble. I want you to feast to your heart's content. I’ve already given you my glory. Let me fill every crevasse of your being to overflow.
Once you’ve enjoyed this time and are full, then we’ll go together, and you’ll instinctively know what to say and do because you’ve spent time listening to what I've spoken to your spirit, soul, and body. Only then will you truly be seen, and I will equip your mouth with the voice of a ready writer. I will bless you in ways beyond understanding. This must come before all else.
It’s just you and me. You have my full attention. May I have yours?
I long to impart my secrets to you. But this can only be done in the hidden place.
Will you abide with me here?
"I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine."
