We believe following Jesus is more than attending church or gaining biblical knowledge. It is a lifelong journey of being transformed into His likeness as we walk together in authentic community, rooted in God's Word and led by Holy Spirit.
Our desire is to cultivate mature disciples who carry the light of Christ into their homes, workplaces, neighborhoods, and wherever God calls them.

Our heart is not simply to fill seats or host another Bible study. Our heart is to see lives transformed as believers grow in biblical truth, spiritual maturity, freedom, and purpose—becoming faithful followers of Jesus who influence the world around them for His glory.

Discipleship
At the heart of Carbon Lights is the call Jesus gave to His followers: "Go and make disciples."
Our desire is to cultivate mature disciples of Jesus who are rooted in God's Word, led by Holy Spirit, and continually growing in spiritual maturity. We believe discipleship is more than learning about Jesus—it's becoming more like Him.
Community
We believe we were never meant to walk this journey alone.
Carbon Lights is a place where authentic koinonia can flourish—where people encourage one another, pray together, ask honest questions, celebrate victories, walk through hardships, and grow together as the family of God.
Marketplace
We intentionally gather in the marketplace because we believe the Kingdom of God belongs there.
Faith is not something we leave inside a church building. It is lived out in our homes, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and every sphere of influence where God has placed us.
Our prayer is that every gathering equips us to leave differently than we came—to carry the light of Christ into everyday life.

MEET CYNTHIA
Cynthia Mergen is the founder of Carbon Lights, a discipleship community rooted in biblical truth, spiritual formation, and authentic community.
Having experienced God's restoring work through seasons of refinement, healing, and surrender, Cynthia is passionate about creating spaces where others can encounter God's presence, grow in His Word, and discover the purpose He has placed within them.
Her heart is to see believers equipped, strengthened, and transformed into mature disciples who confidently carry the light of Christ into the world around them.
She is grateful to walk out this calling alongside the steadfast love and support of her husband, Tom, and her family, whose encouragement and prayers have been an important part of the journey.
